Reflecting Hope 2025: Keeping Hope Alive Across the British Union

In its third year, the Reflecting Hope Conference returns with renewed energy and vision, uniting churches across the British Union Conference (BUC) under the powerful theme: ‘Keeping Hope Alive’. The initiative, which began as a pilot in 2023, has rapidly grown into a movement dedicated to sustainable evangelism and total member involvement, serving as the BUC’s direct response to the General Conference’s Christ for Europe initiative.

Launched in 2023, Reflecting Hope started as a pilot programme, testing outreach and spiritual revival models across select BUC churches. In 2024, the focus shifted to leadership, equipping pastors with tools to guide their congregations in sustainable, mission-driven ministry. That groundwork has paved the way for 2025, a pivotal year where the call to action extends to every member, aiming to make everyone a champion of Hope and a bearer of light in their communities.

“This year is all about Total Member Involvement,” said Pastor Augustus Lawrence, Director of the BUC Evangelism Department. “Reflecting Hope is no longer just a conference; it’s a lifestyle, a commitment from every believer to keep the message of hope alive in a world that desperately needs it.”

Workshops, keynote addresses, and training sessions will equip attendees to share their faith more effectively, support their communities, and engage in practical evangelism. The conference also offers resources tailored to various church sizes and contexts, ensuring that every congregation, from rural branches to urban centres, is empowered to reflect Christ's love.

Local churches are already seeing the fruits of the initiative. Reports from 2024 show increased community engagement, baptisms, and revitalised church life in several areas. Leaders are confident that with the entire membership now mobilised, the impact in 2025 will be even greater.

“This is not just a programme; it's a movement,"  said Pastor Augustus Lawrence. We’re learning how to share Hope and becoming Hope in action.

As the Reflecting Hope Conference grows, it is a powerful testament to what can happen when vision, faith, and commitment align. With ‘Keeping Hope Alive’ as its 2025 banner, the BUC stands united in purpose: to bring the light of Christ into every corner of the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
