Editor’s Farewell
As this edition of BUC News goes to publication, it also marks my final editorial as Communication & Media Director of the British Union Conference.
Serving in this role over the past five years has been both a privilege and a blessing. It has given me the opportunity to witness first-hand the remarkable ways in which God is working through His Church across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Week after week, BUC News has sought to tell those stories – stories of faith, mission, service, hope, sacrifice and lives transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
No publication of this nature is the work of one individual. I am sincerely grateful to the many pastors, departmental directors, church officers, institutions, photographers, writers, editors and volunteers who have faithfully shared news, photographs and testimonies that have enabled us to tell the story of God's leading across our Union. Your contributions have enriched these pages and ensured that the ministry of local churches and members has been seen, celebrated and preserved.
I also wish to thank our readers for your encouragement, thoughtful feedback, prayers and loyal support over these past five years. Your engagement has continually reminded us that communication is far more than sharing information – it is a ministry that strengthens fellowship, inspires mission and connects God's people.
On a personal note, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to my Personal Assistant, Mary Kapon, whose exceptional eye for detail, meticulous proofreading and quiet professionalism have contributed immensely to the quality of BUC News and so much of the Communication Department's work. Her commitment to excellence has been a constant source of support, and I remain profoundly grateful for her partnership throughout this journey.
I also extend my sincere thanks to our Media Creative Manager, Kofi Osei-Owusu, for his outstanding creativity, technical expertise and steadfast commitment to excellence. It has been a pleasure working alongside him as we sought to present the Church's story in engaging, relevant and innovative ways. His professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile have been a tremendous asset to the department.
My appreciation also extends to the British Union Conference officers, departmental colleagues and staff with whom I have had the privilege of serving. Together, we have sought to strengthen the Church's witness through effective communication, embrace new opportunities in digital ministry, enhance crisis communication and tell our story with greater clarity, relevance and purpose.
While my role now comes to an end, the mission of the Church continues. I leave with every confidence that the Communication & Media Department will continue to flourish under new leadership. I pray that God will richly bless the incoming team with wisdom, creativity, discernment and a renewed passion to communicate Christ with excellence across every available platform.
Finally, thank you for allowing me to serve you. It has been an honour to share this journey together. My prayer is that we will each continue to use every gift, every conversation and every communication opportunity to point others to Jesus Christ until He comes.
