Easter Message: A Thoughtful Hour From the Office of the President

During the Easter season, Christians across the world celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Services are held that focus on the closing weeks of His life. But after Easter season, the prominence of Gethsemane and Calvary are packed away for the year.

What if we adopted “a thoughtful hour each day reviewing the life of Christ from the manger to Calvary…especially the closing ones (scenes) of His earthly life” (Ellen G White, Gospel Workers, p.246.1)? What if we devoted an hour every day to read through the Word of God and reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus?

Imagine the difference it would make to our lives.  We would learn humility from a Christ who washed the feet of His disciples, even the one that would betray Him.  We would witness a Christ who forgave those who ill-treated Him.  We would view Christ not only as the Saviour of the world, but as our daily example.

As you spend time with family, friends and neighbours, and as you worship this weekend, I invite you to consider spending a thoughtful hour daily with Christ.
