Pastor Emanuel Bran Elected Executive Secretary of the British Union Conference
Pastor Emanuel Bran was voted as the Executive Secretary of the British Union Conference (BUC) last week at their 10th Quinquennium Session held at the Atrium Hotel, Heathrow from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 July 2026.
Emanuel Bran was born and raised in Romania and has devoted his life to serving God and advancing the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A graduate of Newbold College of Higher Education, he began his pastoral ministry in the North England Conference (NEC) in 2008, serving churches in Birmingham and Derby areas. Passionate about lifelong learning and effective leadership, he is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), seeking to combine sound organisational leadership with a Christ-centred approach to ministry.
In 2016, Emanuel accepted a call to serve as President of the Welsh Mission, where he provided spiritual, pastoral, and organisational leadership for five years. Working alongside pastors, members, and administrators, he sought to strengthen local churches, foster collaboration, and advance the Church’s mission throughout Wales.
In 2021, he returned to the NEC to serve as Executive Secretary. In this role, he has focused on strengthening governance, supporting ministers, developing leaders, and cultivating healthy organisational cultures that enable mission to flourish. He believes that administration is at its best when it serves the Church’s mission, equipping pastors and members to lead people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Having served as a local church pastor, Mission President, and Conference Executive Secretary, Emanuel brings a broad perspective on ministry and leadership within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is passionate about helping people discover their God-given potential and believes that effective leadership is rooted in humility, integrity, collaboration, and empowering others. He has a particular passion for mentoring leaders, building strong teams, and creating environments where individuals, churches, and organisations can grow and flourish together.
Speaking following his election, Pastor Bran said: “Thank you to the BUC. It’s one of the most significant responsibilities I have ever been assigned, and I will give it my very best. I would like to first of all thank God for allowing me to take on this responsibility. We believe that God is using us and He can use us mightily. There is one thing I know for sure: God wants us to be united, to love one another and to praise Him. Together, as an administration in the BUC, we can do wonderful things for God.”
Emanuel has been married to Camelia for 23 years. Together they share a deep love for God, a passion for music, and a commitment to serving others. Whether through ministry, leadership, or everyday relationships, they find great joy in encouraging people to discover Christ, grow in their faith, and become all that God has created them to be.
